About The Job

Family in Embassy Row is looking to hire a Nanny Housekeeper. This is a full-time position that can be live-in or live-out based on the candidate’s preference.   During the summer, this role will be mornings/afternoons on weekdays + 1 weekend per month. During the academic school year, the schedule will shift to afternoon/evening coverage during the week + occasional weekend coverage.   The Nanny Housekeeper will be responsible for split childcare and housekeeping/organization duties within the home, including routine cleaning, maintaining cleaning supplies, child supervision, driving child to and from appointments, helping with schoolwork and more.

The Employer

Loving family of 3 with a 9-year-old is looking for a replacement nanny, and to also replace their current housekeeping servicer provider with an all-in-one position. They are looking for an experienced childcare professional who has a nothing is too small attitude.   This is a long-term position and there is opportunity to travel with the family throughout the year.

Responsibilities

Nanny
  • Preparing child for school by helping them with dressing, grooming, packing lunch, and homework and driving them to school, athletic practices/events or appointments as necessary
  • Engaging the child in fun and educational activities throughout the summer and after school/on weekends as necessary during the school year
  • Light, child-related food prep
  • Communicating regularly with parents and reporting any issues or concerns
Housekeeping
  • Perform routine housekeeping and deep cleaning of the family’s residence to maintain a clean and organized home environment
  • Scheduling and managing seasonal deep cleaning throughout the residence
  • Maintaining and managing household appliances and equipment
  • Occasional driving for supplies or household-related errands
  • Cleaning of vehicles as necessary
  • Handling laundry on behalf of the child and couple (washing, ironing and organizing clothes)

Must Haves

  • At least 3 years of childcare experience
  • Housekeeping experience not required, although candidate should be familiar with general housekeeping/laundry elements
  • Should be comfortable driving in the city (vehicle provided by principal)
  • Basic food preparation skills
  • Knowledge of household technology
  • Extra consideration for candidates who have:
    • Experience tutoring children in various academic subjects
    • Spanish speaking a plus!

About You

  • Friendly and personal demeanor (environment is very family-oriented)
  • Ability to work without direct supervision
  • Strong organizational and time management skills – managing personal priorities as well as family/child’s schedules
  • Attention to detail and ability to maintain high cleaning standards
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both verbal/written English

Compensation & Benefits

$70 – 80K base salary, depending on experience/flexibility. Weekend coverage is compensated as overtime pay. Competitive benefits package including health benefits (medical, vision, dental), retirement savings account and year-end bonus.
