Private Driver

to Executive & His Family

Job ID: 3442211

About The Job

We are seeking an experienced Private Driver to provide dedicated transportation services for a high-level executive and his family in Miami. This role requires exceptional driving skills, unwavering reliability, and the ability to seamlessly integrate into a fast-paced business lifestyle while maintaining the highest standards of discretion and service. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in executive transportation, demonstrate proactive thinking in route planning and schedule management, and maintain the kind of professional presence that reflects well on the principal in all business and personal settings.

The role is based primarily in Miami with the executive as the primary focus, requiring full-day availability to track his dynamic schedule, provide standby service between appointments, and ensure punctual arrivals for all business engagements. While the majority of service centers around the executive’s needs, occasional family transportation duties will include school runs for the couple’s young child and transportation for the spouse as schedules permit. The successful candidate will be someone who thrives on precise timing, enjoys the variety that comes with supporting an executive’s lifestyle, and takes pride in providing white-glove transportation service that allows busy professionals to maximize their productivity and peace of mind. The ideal candidate understands that they serve as both a driver and mobile office coordinator.

This is a rewarding, long-term opportunity for a Private Driver who is comfortable with extended standby periods, complex route planning across Miami’s traffic patterns, and becoming an essential part of an executive’s daily operations where timing, reliability, and discretion are paramount.

The Employer

The principal is a high-level executive in the financial services industry whose demanding schedule requires seamless transportation coordination throughout Miami-Dade and regular travel to Fort Lauderdale and the Keys. With back-to-back meetings, client entertainment, and frequent schedule changes, the principal values a driver who can anticipate needs, adapt quickly to routing changes, and provide a mobile environment where he can conduct calls and prepare for meetings while in transit. His spouse maintains her own professional commitments, and their young child attends school in Coral Gables.

While the family works with various household staff and business support teams, this role represents the critical transportation backbone that keeps the executive’s complex schedule moving efficiently. From early morning airport runs to late-night client dinners, and from family weekend activities to last-minute schedule adjustments, this is a position for someone who understands that reliable transportation is a critical factor in an executive’s day-to-day success.

Responsibilities

  • Provide dedicated transportation for the executive throughout Miami, maintaining real-time awareness of his dynamic schedule and proactively adjusting routes based on traffic, weather, and schedule changes

  • Support spouse’s transportation needs as schedule permits, coordinating with executive priorities to optimize vehicle utilization
  • Assist with family weekend activities, errands, and social commitments as necessary
  • Coordinate with other household staff during events to ensure comprehensive transportation coverage

Route Planning & Navigation

  • Master Miami’s traffic patterns, construction zones, and optimal routing options to minimize travel time and avoid delays
  • Utilize real-time traffic apps and GPS while maintaining backup route knowledge for all frequent destinations
  • Scout new locations in advance of first visits to ensure efficient routing and appropriate vehicle positioning
  • Maintain detailed knowledge of parking options, valet services, and building access protocols for regular business destinations

Vehicle Management

  • Maintain the executive’s fleet of vehicles in pristine condition, including regular cleaning, fueling, and preventive maintenance coordination
  • Conduct daily vehicle safety inspections and maintain logs of mileage, fuel consumption, and maintenance needs
  • Coordinate with preferred automotive service providers for routine maintenance, repairs, and detailing services
  • Ensure vehicles are properly stocked with amenities including water, charging cables, tissues, and reading materials

Security & Discretion

  • Maintain constant awareness of surroundings and implement appropriate security protocols during transportation and standby periods
  • Protect confidentiality of conversations, destinations, and business matters encountered during transportation duties
  • Exercise sound judgment in parking locations, vehicle positioning, and route selection with security considerations in mind
  • Coordinate with building security and event staff to ensure smooth arrivals and departures at high-profile venues

Communication & Administration

  • Maintain professional communication with the executive, family members, assistants, and business contacts throughout the day
  • Track transportation expenses, parking fees, tolls, and maintenance costs with detailed record keeping
  • Coordinate with household management team regarding schedule conflicts, vehicle sharing, and transportation priorities
  • Provide regular updates on traffic conditions, estimated arrival times, and any factors affecting transportation schedules

Must Haves

  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a Private Driver for executives or high-net-worth individuals
  • Clean driving record with no moving violations in the past 3 years and current Florida driver’s license
  • Expert knowledge of Miami traffic patterns, business districts, airports, and luxury destinations
  • Professional appearance and demeanor suitable for representing an executive in business and social settings
  • Proven ability to maintain strict confidentiality and exercise sound judgment in sensitive situations
  • Flexible schedule availability including early mornings, evenings, and occasional weekends as needed
  • Strong communication skills with ability to interact professionally with executives, clients, and service providers
  • Physical capability to handle luggage, assist passengers, and maintain vehicles in all weather conditions
  • Experience with luxury vehicles and knowledge of proper care and handling of high-end automotive features
  • Willingness to undergo background check and driving record verification

About You

  • You take pride in anticipating needs before they’re expressed and solving transportation challenges with creative solutions
  • You’re naturally punctual and understand that in the executive world, being on time means being early
  • You’re the kind of person who knows every shortcut in Miami, monitors traffic like a meteorologist, and always has a backup plan
  • You appreciate the trust that comes with being an integral part of someone’s daily routine and professional success
  • You thrive in a service role where your expertise directly impacts an executive’s ability to maximize their time and minimize stress

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary range: $90,000 – $120,000 annually
  • Performance-based annual bonus
  • Comprehensive benefits package (health, dental, vision, life insurance)
  • 12 days PTO plus federal holidays

Woman Looking Around As The World Moves Quickly Around Her

The world is spinning faster every day.

Employment has changed drastically the past few years—how we work, the type of work we do, and even where we work. Yet, while the world adapts, solutions for hiring private staff seem to be stuck in the past.

At Old State Staffing, we believe the status quo is not enough, and that those who decide now is the time to settle will be left behind. In the face of great change, tinkering around the edges simply won’t do. Since Day 1, our approach has been built on four key principles:

1. Developing A Quality Product

We’ve built Old State Staffing from the ground up, implementing the same cutting-edge recruiting tools used by the nation’s largest family offices. Historically inaccessible to smaller clients, these tools improve the tracking and management of talent, utilize machine learning for smarter searches, and intuitively compare compensation and qualification benchmarks both regionally and nationally. This allows us to find and match families with the best candidates quicker and more efficiently than ever before.

2. Building A Great Team

We knew from the start that our team would be our greatest differentiator. That’s because our agency is composed entirely of family office professionals who know what exceptional candidates look like; because we’ve applied to, managed, and hired for each of those positions ourselves.

3. Creating Meaningful Relationships

Building and maintaining relationships is important today, more than ever before. We place immense value on our relationships, not just with our clients, but our candidates, and the community at large. We spent our “pandemic years” building partnerships with local universities, to open the doors of private staffing to recent college graduates in the most educated metropolitan area in the world.

4. Refusing To Settle

Change is inevitable, yet private staffing has historically lagged in both hiring and employment standards. We’ve always been disruptors, first to adopt AI and machine learning—ensuring smarter, faster, more accurate matches for our clients.

We know that choosing an agency is a personal decision, and we’re honored for the time you have spent considering us as a partner in your search. If you haven’t spoken to us yet, let me be the first to say that we can’t wait to introduce you to our contacts, to guide you through the hiring process, and to introduce you to the perfect candidate. We know the stakes are high, but so are the rewards. With Old State Staffing you’ll be empowered to make informed, meaningful hiring decisions, so you can continue to thrive in a world that’s spinning faster every day.
